Self-certified sophisticated investor
A self-certified sophisticated investor is someone with direct experience in business or investing, someone who understands both the risks and the rewards of non-mainstream investment opportunities like ours.
To qualify, you’ll need to confirm that you meet at least one of the following:

You’ve been part of a network or syndicate of business angels for at least six months

You’ve made more than one investment in an unlisted company in the past two years

You’ve worked in private equity or small business finance within the past two years

You’ve been a director of a company with annual turnover of at least £1 million in the last two years
You’ll also need to sign a declaration confirming your status and awareness of the risks involved, including that your capital is at risk and returns are not guaranteed.
High net worth individual
You may also be eligible to invest if you’re considered a high net worth individual. This applies if, in the last financial year, either of the following is true:

Your annual income was £100,000 or more (excluding pension withdrawals unless used as retirement income)

You held net assets of £250,000 or more, excluding your main home, pension pots, and insurance policies
Like with the sophisticated investor status, you’ll need to sign a declaration to confirm that you meet these requirements and understand the nature of the investment.
